Wednesday, October 14th

11:15 am – Livestreaming Student Chapel
Led by Rev. Dr. David Young (’04) with Special Alumni Guest Dr. Stephen Wilson (’91)

365投注官网attendees enjoyed a special homecoming week student chapel direct from wollaston church of the nazarene.  enc welcomed back alumnus dr. stephen wilson, chair of the department of family medicine at boston university school of medicine and chief of family medicine at boston medical center, to provide the guest lecture.

Thursday, October 15th

7:00 pm – Celebrating “The Best in Education”
Led by Interim Academic Dean Dr. Bill McCoy

365投注官网guests watched as academic dean dr. bill mccoy hosted an evening roundtable with alumni faculty professor janet lanham and professor sean coleman as well as professor pierre-richard cornely and student josselyn mata (’21).  panelists provided testimony of their academic experiences at the college and reflected on over a century of academic excellence.

Friday, October 16th

An ENC radio drama: “The Strange Case of Alice Faulkner”
The first of four radio dramas to be performed this fall.
Directed by Tara Brooke Watkins (’02) & Allison Tucker (’12)
A simple case of blackmail becomes something much bigger when Sherlock Holmes and John Watson come face to face with the Napoleon of crime: Moriarty. Holmes uses a decoy butler, an artificial house fire, and his endless deductions to fight his nemesis. Can Watson and Holmes infiltrate Moriarty’s web of criminal counterparts in order to protect Alice Faulkner and recover the blackmailed letters? Or will this be the night that Moriarty’s thugs bring Sherlock to an early end? Tune in to hear the original 1930’s script from The Mercury Theatre presented from ENC’s stage. A contribution to the arts is encouraged – Make your gift today and enjoy the talents of today’s students!This production is a co-production between ENC’s Theatre Department and QATV. 11:00 am – Coffee with the Coaches
Led by Athletic Director Dr. Brad Zarges

the goal was to gather all lions fans and former student-athletes and that’s what they did! energy was high on this zoom meeting as alumni and current coaches celebrated enc’s athletic legacy together! replay the zoom and hear from our coaches, see a year-in-review summary, and experience interactive, sport-specific breakout rooms.

7:00 pm – An Evening with ENC
Q & A with Students & Music from the College Community

365投注官网this hour-long event was broken into two parts.  first, viewers got to know two of our current students, ozzy traill and sam baston. our own student government association shared a day-in-the-life video to give the audience a glimpse into the “new normal” on campus. additionally, our admissions office provided a video to inform our alumni of the virtual preview days they have planned this fall! the celebration of the spirit of homecoming truly came through as our talented enc community provided music that all of our audience could enjoy!

11:00 am – New Beginnings Reunion

365投注官网this was a special opportunity for alumni of color to reminisce, share stories, and encourage current students on their enc journey.

Led by David Bergers (’89) with Special Guests

365投注官网alumnus david bergers, the new vp of external affairs, and current enc society members talked with students andres medina (’23), julia cuthbert (’22), and chris jaskiewicz (’23) about their enc experience. enc society panelists rev. dr. dick pritchard (’67), rev. stafford fredrick (’76), and laura nase (’08) reflected on their own academic experiences and just why they are dedicated to investing in the next generation of enc students.


3:00 pm – AGS Through the Years
Led by Robert Murphy (’99, ’02) and Jim Sheets (’92)

365投注官网adult & graduate studies alumni were invited to attend a virtual event to share in enc’s adult and graduate studies’ evolution, vision, and the role in which they all contributed to the advancement of eastern nazarene college as a higher learning institution.

Prophetic Lament:  A Biblical Response to the Pandemic and the Work of Racial Justice
Led by Rev. Dr. David Young (’04) & Rev. Dr. John Nielson (’89)

365投注官网rev. prof. phil lafountain, rev. prof. julene tegerstrand, adjunct professors rev. mat thomas (’05) and pastor rose percy (’18), and current enc student andy edouard (’21) discussed the significance and power of lament as a prophetic address to our current circumstances. the event focused on a panel discussion followed by time for questions and response. everyone is welcome to re-engage with this research material. ministers and alumni of the religion and culture program are especially encouraged to watch.

7:00 pm – Alumni Award Ceremony
Led by President Jack Connell & Alumni Association President Janelle Beiler (’93)

365投注官网the most-anticipated event of the weekend was the alumni award ceremony.  watch as the college recognized the incredible accomplishments of this year’s alumni award winners listed below. led in prayer by rev. wenton fyne, the program thoughtfully included an address from president jack connell and a distribution of awards led by janelle beiler. each recipient had the opportunity to responded via video footage which made for a fun and rather nostalgic evening. watch the event below to help honor those who have served the lord and our college well.

the alumni awards committee was grateful to all who submitted nominations for this year’s awards; it was a difficult selection process. in 2020, enc celebrated this year’s esteemed recipients:

ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Awarded to alumni who consistently are modeling outstanding achievement in their professions, exemplifying service to the kingdom of God, and whose lives are characterized by the essence of the ENC Ideal.

LORRAINE (BROWN) BAMFORD ‘75  •  Gifted in many languages, a natural educator, and with a joyful servant’s heart, Lorraine Bamford has led a distinguished career in The Salvation Army. An ordained minister and a passionate advocate for women in ministry, Lorraine has worked in the U.S. and South America. Her Godly leadership has impacted thousands through pastoral care, anti-trafficking work, mentorship, and education. More about Lorraine Bamford.

JONATHAN STOTLER ‘95  •  Combining his love for medicine, technology, and service, Jonathan Stotler is the founder and CEO of Voxmedia LLC, an ACCME-accredited continuing medical education company. Also a children’s author, Jonathan’s heart belongs in South Africa, where he grew up in a missionary family among the Venda, Zulu, Xhosa, and Nbdebele. He inspires those around him with his pursuit of excellence in all aspects of his work and life. More about Jonathan Stotler.

EMERGING LEADER AWARD
Awarded to alumni who have graduated within the past 20 years and who evidence a developing pattern of Christian leadership through vocation and service while representing the essence of the ENC Ideal.

MISSY (ROBERTS) IVANKOVICH ‘00 & ANDY IVANKOVICH ‘00  •  Partners in marriage and business, Missy and Andy Ivankovich are serial entrepreneurs. With ingenuity and tireless perseverance, they have used their God-given talents to innovate in both secular and sacred sectors through digital banking, media services, and other technologies. As new owner-operators of a ranch and vineyard in Texas, they continue to lean into creative opportunities for growth and generosity. More about Missy Ivankovich. More about Andy Ivankovich.

KRISTEN ADRINA (SOLOMON) JOHNSON, ESQ. ‘05  •  Whether she’s practicing law as a civil rights lawyer in New York City, serving as an ENC trustee, singing on the church worship team, or supporting local moms through creative community programming, Kristen is a nonstop powerhouse for justice and good. Her faith informs every aspect of her life. A Nazarene pastor’s kid and grandkid, Kristen seeks Godly solutions for some of humanity’s most vexing problems. More about Kristen Adrina Johnson.

The ENC IDEAL:  ENC seeks, in each member of its community, to enlighten the mind, to enhance the quality of personality, to enkindle a never-ending search for truth, and to enable each, out of Christian love and concern, to serve others creatively and responsibly. This is lived out in the search for truth, a conscious seeking of the highest values in all phases of life, a commitment to creative scholarship, and overall, a commitment to the Christian Faith.
